Civil/Storm Water Design

Stormwater design involves the design and documentation of the catchment of stormwater onto roofs, via gutters, box gutters into down pipes and into underground stormwater pipes to the nominated legal point of discharge provided by local council.

In addition, civil design is often incorporated within stormwater design to make allowance for pathways, driveways and ground resurfacing to promote the capture of stormwater as outlined above.

Furthemore, multi-unit developments or proposed dual occupancies, often require a detention system design, if requested by council as part of the planning permit. Detention systems are employed on a site to reduce the quantity of stormwater runoff leaving a site by temporarily storing the runoff that exceeds a site’s allowable discharge rate, and releasing it slowly over time.
